I have fond memories of the many emotional stories that have touched my heart over the years: Once, for example, a customer asked us to visit his godchild in hospital with best wishes for his recovery and a gift that we had wrapped up with great care. You can't imagine how surprised this child was and how amazed he was with his big shining eyes. This is how recovery works!
Then we gave a young, unsuspecting lady a secret message from her beau (or was it her ex?) hanging from a giant, bright red balloon.
With a big grin on my face, I also like to think back to the specially made original Sacher cake in the middle of summer when the temperature was at its highest. With a very personal inscription, it was the highlight of the day for a lovely elderly lady.
The live act of a saxophone player and singer after the wedding ceremony was an absolute success and the icing on the cake of a great wedding celebration. Goosebump feeling! Nobody knew anything about it. It was a gift from the best man. And that brings me directly to the most romantic marriage proposal ever in front of a spectacular backdrop at sunset, including the bride's abduction in a luxury car.
Sometimes it's unusual wines, sometimes cigars or, quite funny and a surprise out of the blue, a crate of Füchsen Altbier for a barbecue evening from a customer in America, who was making good on a promise. No matter how big or small the gift is, this unique moment of surprise remains forever in the memory and hits the heart. Pure emotion and often tears of joy. That and only that counts.
