What effect does this enchanting word have on you?
What feelings are awakened in you at this moment, what memories are awakened?
When was the last time you experienced something that literally took your breath away? Probably far too seldom or far too long ago, or both... Am I right? Although this is exactly what gives our lives meaning. That we feel alive, that makes us happy and strong. Where have all these big and small moments suddenly gone that blow us away, surprise us, impress us, stir us up, inspire us, activate us?
I, for one, miss them very much in these crazy times, when we could really use them. Corona has taken it away from us, or rather we have let this virus and everything associated with it take it away from us. Breathless instead of breathtaking. Truly not a good trade-off and I've had enough!
Of course, everyone has their own theory that helps them get through this crisis. People need an explanation for everything in order to feel safe in this world or apparently not to lose control in this state of emergency. That has always been the case. But nobody really knows why, why and why.
I only know one thing: everyone can try to make the best of this crisis. Every day. It's not easy, but it can be done. If you do it for yourself, you do it for others too, because it's simply contagious.
I think it's time we created breathtaking moments again, real WOW moments, in which we are either dumb with happiness or sky-high, totally excited, full of euphoria. Because it is precisely these moments that carry us through this time, put a grin on our faces and make us feel that there is something other than fears and worries. It is this spirit that is awakened and provides us with the fresh life energy that we all long for. Goosebumps, palpitations, excitement. Our elixir of life.
My last breathtaking moment was a beautiful sunset in my second home Port d'Andratx on Mallorca. I felt so much at one with this world and all its people. This moment, when the sun dips into the sea in this spectacular setting and slowly disappears, is simply unique and indescribably beautiful. Breathtaking and a true spectacle. And right now, at this very moment, I have goosebumps because I can immediately recall the scene with all my senses, which always makes me happy and grateful.
Recall your memories and briefly immerse yourself in your own breathtaking moment. Perhaps a heavenly view that was so incredibly beautiful that it took your breath away, the romantic marriage proposal by the sea in a turquoise bay, a fascinating natural spectacle or the moment when your child smiled at you for the first time, the ride in a hot air balloon or in a vintage car along the coastal road, swimming with dolphins, the gift you never expected, a beautiful painting that left you speechless or the most beautiful love letter ever that made you melt away. Unique moments that will shape your precious life and make you forget many a sorrow.
It doesn't help - we have to make the best of the current situation in which we, the whole world, find ourselves. We will get through it. But it will certainly be easier if we take action right now and start remembering our breathtaking moments plus creating new ones, making our hearts leap for joy and stepping off the hamster wheel for a tiny moment. It's actually not that difficult, is it?
Have a really good time, enjoy life, be grateful and give everyone your enchanting smile.
