The facts first.
The island has 24 golf courses, all with excellent facilities and service. Each golf course is unique in itself, 21 of which can be played by guest players for a green fee, while the remaining 3 are private clubs. As a rule, the golf courses can be played all year round and offer breathtaking landscapes and spectacular views.
The best months for golfers are April, May and June as well as September and October. With a bit of luck, however, you can also enjoy sunny golfing weather from November to March. With so much choice, it's not easy to decide which golf course to play. To make your decision easier, I will introduce you to a few 18-hole courses below.
Seven golf courses - carefully selected.
Golf Son Vida: Mallorca's oldest and most traditional golf course in the exclusive residential area of Son Vida near Palma. Flat to hilly, with water hazards and elegant lines. The view over Palma to the cathedral is legendary.
Son Muntaner Golf: Also located in Son Vida. Nestled in the mountains, with landscaped water features and a sophisticated design, it is considered one of the most sophisticated complexes on the island.
Pula Golf ResortLocated in the municipality of Son Servera in the northeast. Medium to high level of difficulty. Venue for pro golf tournaments such as the "Mallorca Classic".
Real Golf de Bendinat: An exclusive course on hilly terrain with views of the bay of Palma, the island of Cabrera and the castle of Bendinat. With a stylish restaurant to round off the round. A beautiful course in a fantastic location.
Golf Santa Ponsa I: Where aristocrats and celebrities play. Wide, long fairways, Mediterranean vegetation and one of the longest par 5 holes in Europe (hole 10 - 590 m). International tournaments such as the "Balearic Islands Golf Open" are held here.
Son Gual Golf Club: One of the most exclusive golf courses in Europe, south-east of Palma. Large tee-off areas on a hilly course, awarded by "The Leading Golf Courses of Spain".
